Michael Aubrey - More $ Down the Drain

In 2003, the Indians drafted Michael Aubrey with the 11th pick in the draft and gave him $2,010,000 as a signing bonus.

Today, the team traded Aubrey to Baltimore for the infamous “player to be named later.”

He played in the big leagues one season, 2008, where he had 50 plate appearances in 15 games and an OPS of .613 - which is below average.

In other words, much like the Jeremy Guthrie situation I wrote about here, there goes more millions of dollars and another first round pick, wasted, for almost nothing in return.
