Shaq and the Draft

I’ve been silent and pondering the draft and the whole Shaq thing for a couple of days and now am ready to give all of you my thoughts.  I know you’ve been anxiously awaiting my comments

Shaq trade good

Draft not so good

What?  you want to know my reasons.  Well I guess that’s fair enough

Yes, Shaq is 37, but he made the all star team last year.  The turning point for me was when I heard that Kareem was the MVP of the Finals when he was 38 years old.  Since Shaq was the original Super Man in Orlando, I think he can be that guy again.

I know by managing the draft the way we did, we saved $800K by picking Eyenga (or whatever his name is), but we passed on some good players - players that may have helped us this coming year.  I think Danny Green is a good player that could help us, maybe even next year.  So, I consider it below average.  Unless we use the money we save to sign all the free agents we want and need, then I’ll reserve the right to change my mind.

I sure hope Ferry knows what he is doing because signing “Sheed” and Matt Barnes or Anthony Parker is risky, especially Rasheed.  So, I hope he is right.

If he is, then Shaq will be “the first to five” rings and I’ll be celebrating at the parade downtown —- and I will be at the parade.

Dad

Did I mention I’ll be at the parade?
