Expect the Unexpected

Here’s my take on the upcoming NBA free agency and the Cavs. I know the media is talking Sheed and Matt Barnes and/or Anthony Parker — and I suppose that could still happen. However, in my opinion, this is just more smoke screen put up by the Cavs. Let me remind you that - aside from the home run M talked about in the previous post (trying to get the #2 pick), the Cavs were content to sit back and not even draft a player they had to sign this year. Yet, we were all convinced that they were going to try to move up, even a little, to get a guy they really wanted. As if the 21st or 23rd pick would really make that much of a difference next year. However, I know I was convinced, and watched the entire first round waiting for the promised “big move” by the Cavs. Then, when they finally picked Christian Eyenga - no one even knew who he was. Ha ha So, I’m suggesting that you don’t fall into this same trap with the upcoming free agency period. Sure, we could still end up with Sheed — but, don’t be surprised if we pull off a sign and trade for Charlie V or some other big time player. Do I have inside information? Of course not - but, I do know that it’s hard for teams to change their personalities for one series or one game. It’s also hard for people to change their personalities too. Therefore, logic says that Danny Ferry won’t change either, so he is proabably planning something bold for the free agency period. Will it happen for sure? Of course not - ala the attempt to get the #2 pick - but I expect him to try very hard to do something special. Oh, and Jason Kidd too. So, expect the unexpected - and hold on for the ride I’ll see all of you at the parade Dad
