The Plain Dealer tweeted this photo moments before Victor was about to talk to the media. I won’t go over the trade or who the Indians got - you know my position…it needed to be done if the team was going to compete down the road.
I know Clevelanders are playing to their short-term emotions right now, but I have to say that in listening to national commentators (yes, a lot of them are idiots like Steve Phillips, but not everyone) almost no one has criticized the Indians for taking this path.
That said, it does kind of suck to see images of Vic wearing a Red Sox hat - I won’t front.
Today, when talking about the fact that the Indians have now added 9 pitchers to their organization since all the trading began, my dad made a point of saying that all of the guys seemed to be BIG. So, by height and weight and for a little levity…here it is —
Chris Perez: 6’4” 225lbs
Jess Todd: 5’11” 210lbs
Connor Graham: 6’6” 235lbs
Scott Barnes: 6’3” 175lbs
Jason Knapp: 6’5” 225lbs
Carlos Carrasco: 6’3” 215lbs
Justin Masterson: 6’6” 250lbs
Bryan Price: 6’4” 210lbs
Nick Hagadone: 6’5” 230lbs
One guy under 6’0” and one guy under 200 lbs - and, thankfully, they’re not the same guy.
Wow. These dudes will beat you down.
You think the Indians front office has some data to suggest that big pitchers have more success than little ones?
