Here’s another example of Mangini laying down his scent to further establish the fact that he is the alpha dog - he closed today’s only practice to the fans.
Now, let’s review, this isn’t the last practice before the first game. It isn’t the week before the Super Bowl - it’s the THIRD DAY OF SUMMER PRACTICE!!
What can possibly be happening this early in the Summer session that fans would not be permitted to watch???
Let me go on record that I’m OK with Mangini’s approach this year. I’m on the bandwagon for more discipline, the Browns need to be tougher and meaner.
Holla
However, I don’t understand why he’d close the practice — especially this early in the Summer.
My only guess is that he’s now putting the fans on notice — just like he did the media the other day - that he’s the one calling all the shots. I also suspect that he had that same smirk on his face when he announced the closed practice as he does when he refuses to discuss injuries.
Strangely - he let the media observe and film the practice, so why not let the fans in as well.
It’s that alpha dog syndrome, I tell you.
He can get away with it now - let’s hope alpha dog just doesn’t piss off “Big Dog” and the rest of his dog pound friends too much. So far, I like his approach to the game. I just hope he knows what he’s doing with the fans.
Holla back!
Dad
