I know that you are all expecting me to trash Jhonny tonight, but I will refrain. All I want to say is if you saw the Indians game tonight - you saw A MAJOR LEAGUE SHORTSTOP - and his name is Asdrubal.
He made four very good plays tonight, two bordered on excellent, the last I’d say was pretty damn good. It was a sliding stop of a ground ball - to the right of second base - when they had the shift on. Valbuena couldn’t get there — but Asdrubal did.
I know the Indians are winning now — in fact, they’ll only be 10 games out if the Tigers lose tonight. However, one of the reasons — besides the insane pitching they are getting now — is that they now have a shortstop who has had a chance to settle into the position at the major league level.
No, it’s not about Jhonny. It’s all about Asdrubal!
