BJT68 Guest Report: Browns Training Camp

Friend and commenter BJT68 took a trip - I believe - with Kosar19 to Browns Training Camp today. What follows is his first hand account:

I went to Browns Training Camp today and it was much more focused than last year. The whistles blew and everyone was hustling and playing hard. Braylon tweaked his ankle early and rode a bike the rest of the practice. As for the QB situation, it wasn’t pretty….

Quinn struggled on his touch pass early. He missed on some 15 yard out plays but got it together in the end.

Anderson is Anderson. He throws an incompletion and hangs his fucking head until he throws a completion. I wish I had a dollar for every throw that Anderson missed and slapped his hands together.

Ratliff is a backup, nothing more. He didn’t seem very sharp on decision making.

Overall I have a hunch that Quinn has the best chance of being a starter. He seems to have a better chemistry with his teammates while Andreson seems to ignore them. Quinn is going to have to really “shit the bed” to not be the starter.

Thanks BJT68, good stuff…it’s only one day, we’ll keep that in mind, but based on what I’ve been reading, if we’re going to put a lot of value on the QB position and its contribution to wins, this could be a long season barring a miracle.

Then again, I’ve heard Anderson sucked in training camp in 2007, too - how else would Charlie Frye get the starting job? - so maybe there’s hope yet.
