More NYC Comedy

This is a small bit from ESPN Insider, reporting on another story from our boys over at RealGM that the Knicks have cut off negotiations with all free agent point guards and are making a push to deal for Ricky Rubio, who is “cheap.”

What’s hysterical about this isn’t the fact that Rubio’s buyout has always been the issue, which unless Donnie Walsh is going to run some backdoor chain-smoking mafia connections, the Knicks can’t contribute to any more than the T-Wolves, it’s that ESPN actually writes that Rubio may want to play in NYC more than Minnesota because it’s warmer there.

Ha! As some of you know, I lived in Manhattan for the better part of four years - that place is not at all even remotely close to warm. The skyscrapers turn the streets into a man-made wind tunnel that can be brutal.

It may be warmer than Minnesota, but that’s not saying much. ESPN acts like it’s San Diego.
