I just watched the video of Favre’s illegal crack back block - it was bad, I hope the kid he blocked isn’t hurt too badly. I heard radio talking heads today say Brett isn’t dirty, just made a bad play.
I guess I’m not so sure - could he really be that clueless about the rules to blantantly hit a guy — illegally — like that? On the video, he shows no remorse after the play, either.
Yeah, I know this is football and he looks soft if he goes over to see how the kid is doing — but, this is Brett Favre — he’s bigger than life, he should have done something to show he didn’t do it on purpose. But, he didn’t — which says to me maybe he illegally blocked the guy to get back at their owner or someone else on the Texans, who knows.
I always thought Favre was a classy player all these years. However, his on again — off again —- retirement has sort of tarnished my image of him. Now, this blantant, illegal block could be the icing on the cake for me.
So, I’ve decided the answer to my question posted above is YES - Brett Favre is a dirty player — and a terrible blocker too. Why - cause if he didn’t do it on purpose, then he needs to go work out with the wide receivers for a while to learn how to block.
He also better protect himself whenever he goes back in the pocket or decides to scramble - chances are someone will be after him. Those 40 year old knees won’t react very well to receiving an illegal crack back block. So, Brett, my advice to you is to watch your back - and maybe your knees too.
