Alpha Dog vs The Media

I had a couple of discussions over the weekend with my boys about Alpha Dog and the media here in town.  I heard one sports personality rant on the radio for at least 5 minutes on Mangini - how he better be good and “bring hardware” to this city or the media “will run him out of town just like they ran Butch Davis, Chris Palmer, and Romeo Crennel”.

Why — because he was pissed that Mangini didn’t play either QB on Thursday - said Alpha Dog knew all along that neither would play - but, he just messed with the media by not telling them.  He theorized that the QB derby was “a farce” and that Mangini has known all along who would start the first game.

Apparently, this local media guy isn’t alone - most media hate the guy already.  However, I think most fans are siding with A-Dog - cause they think the team looks better, they know the team needs discipline and they think he brings that quality.

I guess only time will tell — but, I’m going on record that I’m a fan of A-Dog - I love the way he messes with the media and to some extent, the fans.  As I’ve said before, he just looks like he’s having a good time with it.

I’m hopeful, actually really hopeful, that he can turn this thing around and at least make them respectable.  They need to make improvements next year — but, I’ll be happy if they look like they have stopped the bleeding this year.  Maybe they can even find a QB by the end of the year too.

Anyway - the fun begins tomorrow - A-Dog vs. the C-town media.  He’ll get a free pass for most of this year, I think — but, watch what happens as the year goes on.  Watch for the play between the two camps - it might be more exciting then some of the games.

Holla for A-Dog, Holla at the Browns
