Learned just now from @MoveTheSticks - formerly a Cleveland Browns scout - that of the top 10 teams in sacks in the NFL in ‘08, 7 made the playoffs. Also, of the top 10 teams in sacks allowed in ‘08, 7 made the playoffs.
Probably won’t write more until tomorrow - I have a freelance assignment to do overnight - but keep this in mind when we talk about the success of various teams this year and how it relates to the play of the quarterback.
This stat - and the pocket time stat from yesterday - certainly suggest that the conversation should start with how much pressure (literally) there is on the QB.
