Articles on football - a look at the quarterback rating stat and a conversation about the merits of “managing the game” - are on deck.
Didn’t want anyone to think the Browns loss to the Vikings was so demoralizing that we stopped writing for the blog.
In the meantime, two quick hits:
*How antiquated and borderline sexist is it that women’s tennis matches are still best of 3 sets, while the men’s are best of 5? Are we supposed to believe professional women athletes can’t play 5 sets of tennis?
*Another knock on college football: I was pissed off watching Ohio State get beat by USC - I never like to see Hollywood defeat Ohio - but I’d like to applaud both schools for at least competing against another high quality opponent. The irritating thing about college football is that there’s not really any incentive to doing so, e.g. OSU loses to USC and drops out of the top 10 while Penn State beats Syracuse and gets to #5. Not sure which school makes more money in the long-term…OSU from the USC game or Penn State from possibly getting into a bigger Bowl Game…
