Not going to write much tonight since it’s Halloween and a Saturday night. But the big note for tonight is the man in the picture.
The newest things to watch will be what happens with Moon and Parker. Moon barely played (1:37), and Parker produced a lot better than he looked, shooting 75% from three with a 2-2-2 line of steals, assists, and boards. It may end up coming down to match-ups in terms of who gets more playing time per game…but this is a developing story because I’m not so sure Coldstone isn’t sending Moon a message that his defense needs to improve.
Shaq’s only shooting 45% so far. Let’s hope that number rises significantly…it was good to see Shaq actually back Tyson Chandler down a couple of times. I have an intensifying feeling that Shaq may almost be a specialist this year, the big version of Boobie (who was much more effective playing the 2 the past two games - tonight, he didn’t hit a shot).
We’ll attribute the 17 turnovers - (Bron had 4 and Mo had 5) - to figuring each other out. Some ugly passes…but also some beautiful ones.
The other thing to watch this season, I think, is the Cavs 3P shooting percentage. When they shoot well from three, they’re going to win games - because it also will indicate that the offense is spaced and the ball is moving how it should. Tonight, they shot 56.3% from 3.
Manu Ginobli snatched a bat out of the air and killed it with his bare hands. I don’t know if it was a vampire bat or not.
Also, Brandon Jennings is balling. Plus, he’s frugal - dude is driving a Ford Edge and living in a working class neighborhood in Milwaukee.
Game Five, Tuesday against the Wiz. I already can’t feel my face.
