Aside from the hilarious reveal today that the infamous hook and ladder play on Monday night was the Great Inadequinn’s idea, I also enjoyed this gem from Josh Cribbs, who gave the following quote when asked if he thought about the injury differently given that he wants a new contract with additional guaranteed money:
“This is the exact thing I worry about. And we’re going to make sure we get that handled because it really is a touchy subject for me now. It put a lot of things into perspective getting hurt like that and it could’ve been worse.”
Cribbs’s agent did this once before, where he basically said, “We want a new deal because there’s a really good chance that Josh could be debilitatingly injured and then we’d be out a bunch of cash.”
I don’t think is a good negotiating tactic: pay me more money to play for you because I might not be able to play for you very much longer.
