ABJJ #2 - Leon Powe

Leon

My series is somewhat tainted now because — as M as pointed out - Coldstone has stated that he starts JJ cause he can do the least amount of damage at the beginning of the game, he’s just hoping to keep the “4” slot warm until he can put Andy into the game.

However, I still maintain that the more we get at that spot whenever Andy isn’t in the game, the better team we will be.  In addition, if you watched JJ’s expose’ in yesterday’s game, especially in the first quarter — you have to agree that he’s very frustrating to watch.  I can only imagine how frustrating he is to coach.  So, I am forging ahead, this time suggesting that Leon Powe can certainly fill the slot admirably.

Yes, I know he’s not ready yet.  Yes, I know we don’t know how effective he’ll be - especially at first — considering he had microfracture surgery and he hasn’t played at all this year.

However, I do remember how he seemed to kill the Cavs (reference picture at top of this page) whenever he played against us.  I know he’s a tenacious rebounder - a very hard nosed kid.

Lastly, since we are comparing him to JJ — and his “upside” — well, Anybody But JJ is the name of this post.  So, I’m perfectly comfortable recommending Leon — based on the fact that we don’t have to trade anyone (or take on any additional contracts) to add a very serviceable guy — and don’t forget he’s got tremendous “upside” too.

Holla for Leon
