Incredibly, the Cavs beat the Pacers by 21 tonight even though they turned the ball over 23 times and shot 52.3% on free throws (23-44).
Tonight’s Bazooka Point will be brief because it’s Friday (party), but here goes.
I’m not sure if it’ll happen once Mo and Delonte return from injury, but I’d like to advocate for Coldstone selectively going “Andre The Giant.”
“What’s ‘Andre The Giant’?” you ask.
It’s the Cavs’ huge line-up, featuring Bron at the point, Jawad at SG, Moon at SF, Andy at PF, and Z at C (or a variation of this, e.g. Shaq at the 5).
The ability to run out a 5 man unit with nobody shorter than 6’8” has to create serious match-up issues for almost every team … not to mention the fact that LeBron is certainly the best PG on the Cavs and could possibly be the best PG in the entire NBA.
Finally, a bonus “shell” (you know, to plug inside the bazooka).
Inexplicably, after the game tonight, FSO reporter Jeff Phelps went into the Pacers locker room and interviewed Troy Murphy. I have never seen him enter the opposing team’s locker room before.
Talking to DAD, he’s convinced this means the Cavs have a deal in place to acquire Troy.
Now, I don’t know if that’s true or not - obviously - but I do know my mom’s opinion on the prospect of trading for Murphy:
“He doesn’t look like he’d fit in.”
“I don’t think he’s loose enough to get along with the guys. He went to Notre Dame.”
For a moment, I thought her take was about to change though when she asked me where Murphy is from. “That could make a difference,” she said.
So I searched for “troy murphy hometown” on Google (too bad I didn’t have an iPad to do this on) and Morristown, NJ came up. I relayed the information…
“Oh, no way,” was her response.
Clippers on Sunday.
