Cavs-Pacers Bazooka Point

Who here wishes you were super good at your job?

Okay, I know, a lot of you are. I’d like to say the same about myself, but I don’t want to lie on the internet.

Second question. Who here wishes you were so good at your job that you could be the best employee in the world and only had to work insanely hard for no more than 2/15 of the day?

Sounds great, right? But also not very feasible.

But what if I told you this employee does indeed exist. I have seen him in the flesh, in fact. What would you say if I told you I could even sell you a seat to sit down and watch him work, at least 82 days out of the year?

Would you buy a ticket to the carnival?

I sure hope so.

What would you say if I told you that the name of this employee is LeBron James, and that he is an absolute monster?

This, essentially, is how the Cavs and LeBron have been operating in this relatively boring part of the season. LeBron knows they’re good enough to beat the Pacers, the Pistons, and the Celtics. He knows that all he really has to do is assert his will to the nth degree, offensively and defensively, for about 3-5 minutes in the fourth quarter, and the team will follow, and the Cavs will win the game.

That’s what’s going on right now. That’s what we’re watching on a nightly basis.

And I hope you are watching on a nightly basis. Clevelanders and League Pass Owners, watch every game. DVR it and watch it on delay if you have to, even if you already know the outcome. Out of towners, buy League Pass, go to the bar, stand around in Best Buy watching a TV that is for sale, do whatever it takes.

Just don’t miss a game.

We’re watching something historic. Truly. Appreciate it. Respect it. Enjoy it.

Stick this in your memory and don’t let it go. One day, you’ll want to tell your kids. If you’re fortunate enough to find someone who will have them with you.
